Dr. Irina Kuznetsova is a Research Fellow at AAGI, CCDM, Curtin University. She received her PhD from the University of Western Australia in 2022. During her doctoral studies, she worked on the development of analytical workflows for multi-omics datasets that were used to study human metabolic and cardiovascular diseases. As part of this work, she also created user-friendly software designed to help research scientists streamline data processing.
Irina is now applying her extensive analytical expertise and skills to plant systems. Her current work applies single-cell resolution technology to barley leaves, focusing first on protocol optimisation and with development of computational analysis workflows following. Making this method work for the barley crop will help provide a comprehensive picture of how individual plant cells respond to pathogen infection. Ultimately, this knowledge will lead to improved crop traits.
