Biography

Dr. Barbara Kachigunda is an experienced biometrician with expertise in statistical research methods, statistical modelling and research designs in agricultural and plant biosecurity. She has worked with international multidisciplinary research teams across Southern Africa (Zimbabwe, Namibia and South Africa), the United Kingdom, the United States of America and Australia working with academia, government and industry. She obtained her undergraduate degree in Zimbabwe and completed her M.Sc. in Biometry from the University of Reading, in the United Kingdom. She completed her PhD in Agricultural Sciences from the Murdoch University, Australia. A notable achievement in her career is receiving the Fulbright Post-Doctoral Scholarship (2021-2022) for a collaborative project with the Biosecurity Research Institute at Kansas State University and the Harry Butler Institute at Murdoch University.
Barbara now brings her extensive research experience and expertise to the CCDM and contribute to the application of advanced data analytics and training to the grains industry.
