Toby Newman

Research Fellow
Biography

Toby is a research fellow at the CCDM where his research primarily focuses on advancing our understanding of the interaction between Sclerotinia sclerotiorum and its host species. This research will facilitate the development of genetic solutions to reduce the impact of sclerotinia stem rot in canola and pulse crops.

Toby’s passion for molecular plant pathology was inspired by research on a model plant species before heading to the CCDM to apply his interest and expertise to economically important crop species.
