Noel has been a plant pathology researcher for the past 10 years, particularly on focussing on describing disease, detecting pathogens and investigating disease epidemiology. His current research is looking into fungicide resistance and its management. Finding ways of linking laboratory research to field outcomes is a major and rewarding goal.
In plant pathology our particular aims are to improve plant health and yields, reduce chemical application requirements, increase cropping efficiency and produce more food from less land. Each of us plays a small but pivotal role in achieving this goal, which will lead us into a brighter future.
