Since earning his PhD in Botany at UQ in 2002, Josh has worked on plants from many angles and in several places. These include flowering time and vernalization (John Innes Centre 2001-2005), peptide biosynthesis (IMB UQ 2006-2012) and then, after founding a lab at Perth’s UWA in 2013, structural enzymology and herbicides.
He is a former ARC QEII and Future Fellow and Fulbright Scholar. In 2021 he took up the role of Deputy Director for the CCDM where he will pursue research into agrochemicals. His lab has a strong focus on the use of model plants, protein crystallography and chemical biology.
