Biography

Johannes is a research assistant working on ascochyta blight in peas, chickpeas, and lentils, looking to identify pathogenicity mechanisms by utilising the latest sequencing and gene cloning technologies.

His research tries to understand the molecular tools the pathogens use to infect and destroy their host plants. This knowledge can then be used by plant breeders and industry to combat these pathogens.
