Eiko Furuki is a research assistant working on QTL mapping to disease and the identification of novel effectors. This research will enable the breeding of more resistant crops against Stagonospora Nodorum Blotch (SNB), helping to decrease yield loss caused by the disease.
Eiko has a passion for discovery and science, with both interests leading her to (this field of research). “To know that my work could be beneficial to the industry in the long run is a great motivation,” she said.
