Biography

Bethany Clark is a Research Assistant who has spent the last 9 years researching plant-pathogenic fungi. She is passionate about using molecular biology and genetics to understand the interactions between plant hosts and their diseases to assist the production of more resilient crops in the future.

Bethany joined the CCDM in 2021 to work on Ascochyta Blight of Chickpeas, as part of an international project in collaboration with the International Centre for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICARDA). A collection of Ascochyta rabiei isolates from around the world will be analysed to develop an understanding of the underlying genetics of this disease.
