Adrian received a Ph.D. in Plant Pathology from the University of Sydney NSW, and spent the next 12 years researching wheat-improvement at Canadian federal institutions, prior to joining CCDM in January 2024. His research focussed on identifying resistances and developing molecular markers for biotic stresses like leaf rusts and fusarium head blight (FHB) in wheat. Besides expertise in cereal rust pathology and classical genetics, his post-doctoral experience equipped him with skills in plant quantitative genetics, genomics, molecular biology and bioinformatics. At CCDM, Adrian works towards identifying novel and effective resistances in wheat germplasm, to necrotrophic pathogens causing Septoria nodorum blotch (SNB) and tan spot diseases.
